- (SWIFT) (Система всемирных межбанковских финансовых телекоммуникаций (СВИФТ)) Коммуникационная система информационного обслуживания входящих в нее банков относительно перевода средств из одного банка в другой. Штаб-квартира системы расположена в Брюсселе. Сеть терминалов СВИФТ связывает между собой 1 500 банков Европы, США, Африки, Азии, Австралии и Латинской Америки. Система предназначена для передачи информации и инструкций и не является системой электронных платежей. Она начала работать в 1977 г. и находится под контролем бесприбыльной организации.
